Mike Fernino started Music In Motion back in 1984 with a few crates of
records, 2 turntables, and a ton of dreams. Mike's Dad, Michael Sr., was a very
accomplished music educator and founder of Fernino Music Studio in Ansonia CT.
His Mom, Ruth also taught at the studio along with Aunts Julie, Mary, and
Uncle Walter.

With music everywhere around him, it was a very natural fit.
Mike won many competitions at a very young age for piano and accordion, but
it wasn't until the age of 16 that he gave up musical instruments for the
turntable and microphone. Mike's Dad, who was in a wedding band for years, went
on all of his events from 1984-1988, giving Jr very crucial feedback and
consultation.

After Mike's Dad passed on in 1989, Mike's brother Steve joined him, and the
two have been a solid team every since.

Mike & Steve Fernino have the distinction of being together as a DJ team
longer than any other team on the East Coast!

Mike has made the DJ industry his full time career since 1995. Where most
DJs do this as a part time project, Mike has turned Music In Motion into the
4th largest DJ company in Connecticut.

After 25 years and having personally performed at over 2000 events, Mike has
experience that is unmatched in the local DJ industry. He brings tremendous
energy, charisma, and polished professionalism to every event.

Mike has a lovely wife, Sheri, and together make a happy family with their
son Chase Fernino.
